Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026 · Applies to BillTrade (the "Service"), operated by [Your registered business name] ("we", "us").
This Privacy Policy explains what information BillTrade collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers both our website (billtrade.in) and the BillTrade application. We only collect what we need to provide the Service.
1. Information we collect
Account & purchase data. When you sign up, contact us, or buy a plan, we may collect your name, business name, email, phone number, billing address, GSTIN (if provided), and payment confirmation details processed by our payment gateway. We do not store your full card or banking credentials — those are handled by the payment gateway.
Business data you enter. Invoices, customers, products, and payments you create in BillTrade are your data. On desktop this is stored locally on your device; on web it is stored in your account's database.
Google account data (only if you connect Google Drive). See Section 3.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process purchases and provide support.
- To communicate important updates about your account or the Service.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Google Drive access and Limited Use
If you choose to connect Google Drive for backups, BillTrade requests these Google permissions:
- Your Google account email (
userinfo.email) — only to show which account is connected. - Google Drive file access (
drive.file) — only to create, upload, list, and read the backup files BillTrade itself creates in your Drive. This does not grant access to any other files in your Drive; BillTrade cannot see or modify files it did not create.
Your backups are stored in your own Google Drive, under your control, and are encrypted before upload. We do not copy your Google Drive contents to our servers.
Limited Use: BillTrade's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Sharing of information
We share information only with service providers needed to run the Service (such as our payment gateway and hosting provider), or when required by law. We never sell or rent your data, and we never share your Google user data except to provide the backup feature you enabled.
5. Data storage & security
Backups are encrypted (AES-256) and your backup password never leaves your device. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data under our control. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
6. Revoking access & deleting data
You can disconnect Google Drive anytime in BillTrade (Settings → Backup & Restore → Disconnect), or remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To request deletion of account or purchase data we hold, contact us using the details below.
7. Data retention
We keep account and purchase records as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal/tax requirements. The Google authorization token is kept only while Drive remains connected and is removed when you disconnect.
8. Children's privacy
BillTrade is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
